Do you have a suggestion for a tutorial? Why not tell us! Anyone can pick up a tutorial suggestion and make a tutorial. Just quote the person who makes the suggestion and tell us you're working on it!

For the suggestion:

  • Tell us why you think a tutorial should be made
  • Tell us how it should be made
  • Tell us what it is about (some may not know)
  • Include any other information or links that will help the builder of the tutorial

For the takers:

  • Post a reply (by clicking reply) and quote the idea
  • Tell us it's yours and an approximate date when you will have it done

Not all tutorials will be accepted. Please make sure that you include the following in your tutorials:

  • Explanations
  • Screenshots
  • Download links
  • Bibliographies (if needed)
  • Detailed steps
  • A brief description on what the tutorial is about (introduction)
  • Any other information to clarify what you're talking about

All tutorials are inspected by our staff, so make sure you're not rushing your way through it!

Thanks,

SixServe Support Team

I think a really short tutorial on the signup process, as a sticky, would be a very good thing.

I signed up, received an order confirmation email, then received a welcome email that said my account was setup and contained a link to the Client Area. At this point, there is still no information regarding name servers, ftp, cPanel link, or anything else needed to port a site to the service.

I posted a support ticket on this, but the more I think about it, I'm thinking that there are likely two parts to an account being "setup". The first being a billing account, shown in the client area, followed some period of time later by a fully provisioned hosting account.

If this line of thought is correct, then a quick tutorial with these steps would come in handy for new members.

This is just a heads up to a tutorial that I created yesterday. I didn't understand that I had to mention them before I wrote it. Sorry,

Ash

This is just for ideas, not for telling us that you created one (:
