Hello. Nice to meet all of you. I am new to this service. Like the site and your support forum! I am currently trying to import a database total size 34.00 MB's. I split it using SQLSplitter into 39 parts. I imported data structure and part 1 of the database successfully through the PHPMYADMIN. But part 2 came up with an error.

MySQL said:

#1153 - Got a packet bigger than 'max_allowed_packet' bytes

So I tried to import the full .sql database file in Gzipped format. Total MB's? 14.8. And I still got the same error again.

Can any of you nice folks here at sixserve assist me in solving this issue?

Try unchecking "Extended Inserts" in the Data panel on the export page.

Ok, I don't see that assuming you mean the IMPORT page? This database is currently on my desktop as I Exported it back in December of last year, and have had it on my desktop ever since. I do not see the option you are talking about on the import page. I checked the export page and do not see that option there either. The database I exported from my previous web host back in December was the last good and working configuration of our forum. So I cannot export a new one.

Okay, well, in order to make this go away you'd need to export a new one without the expanded inserts. Basically, the request is too much for the server's max query count.

Just import it in smaller pieces.

I did import it in smaller pieces. Part 2 of the 39 part .sql file is approximately 1.34 MB large. That's as low as it'll go. Trust me, I've tried to split it smaller and it won't budge. Is there any way the max packet size can be temporarily raised for me to import. Or can any of you fine people complete this import for me on your end?

If you no longer have access to the database you exported from, you can install XAMPP on your PC and import it there, then do a new export using Dave's instructions below:

Ok I went back to my old host and exported a new database backup. I unchecked extended inserts when exporting. The good news? Part 2 of the import I attempted here at six serve finally went through. The bad news? Part 3 did not go through and I got the #1153 error again. Even after unchecking extended inserts when exporting this latest database from my old host.

So either the max allowed bytes number has to be raised temporarily or if you guys can import for me through telenet or something. Because I don't see any way for me to do an import on my end after the latest failed attempt.

No my database isn't corrupted. Because I imported it back to my old host. In order for me to then export it back to my desktop minus the extended inserts. The import went smoothly. And I visited my sites url on my old host just to be sure. Any corruption would've given an entirely different error.
