how many of you why the the "unwelcome" emails or post in the forum that promote "unwelcome" services and stuff is called spam?
well for young people the story start on that
once upon a time... in britain there was a comedy group :the monty python... that in television do some weird but funny gags and one of the most famous gag of monty python is this
the spam gag and the old fathers of smtp and the first engineer that develop the smtp protocols (your email) discover that the first issue of this smtp was the unwanted ads email so somebody start founds similarities to unwanted emails and this gag he start to call it: spam ( in memory of famous monty python gag) now that's why the unwanted email or unwanted post in a forum that promote something is called SPAM

p.s. Python language have this name in memory of the famous british artists of comedy Monty Python
