Is there any way of fully developing my website before publishing it using wordpress. I'm trying to do that on my pc with wamp but am having problems in setting up wamp... I was wondering if there's any other way.

You can always create a sub-domain and set everything up there then move it to your main domain.

WordPress has two options, one to allow search engines and one not to allow search engines.
I am remembering that these options can be changed in /wp-admin.
Another way would be to set up WordPress locally on your machine and when finished developing, move it to your hosting account.

I hate to jump on an old thread but this might be useful for anyone in the future:
I had exactly the same problem as my website runs from Wordpress, the way i got around this was by installing this plugin:
ThemeFuse Maintenance Mode
Only you can see the website when you've logged in to wordpress, anyone else will receive the "down for maintanence" splash screen generated by the plugin.
It's the bees knees, and definately worth a go in my opinion. It's bound to be easier than setting up a host and wordpress on your local machine or moving from a subdomain.

Yes, maintenance mode is cool but search engines will show it as being in maintenance mode ( I believe... ). Better to block search engines depending on how long development may take ? My thoughts anyways...
Setting up for development on a local machine is cool because the setup can be used more than one time ?
No one can see the website on a local machine and moving a website is relatively simple.
