I have been doing some optimizing for my website for the past 12 hours and I was wondering: Is it better to have my news files like this, http://www.yourtechs...rg/facebook.php, or like this, http://www.yourtechs...rticle.php?id=1? They would both point to the same thing, but different ways of serving the content. Originally, every news story had its own individual file. But now, I have one file named article.php which gets the ID of the news stories and gets the content from a database. Is there any real difference between the two methods, and if so, which is better? Thanks!

yes, but thats just my opinion, witch way do you like it?
keep in mind that the search bots would crawl each news article better with a set "ID" than a static page if your doing it for page rank
it would really just depend on how your trying to accomplish the site, everybody has there own opinion

Personally, I like it with the ID method. This allows for an easier setup. The way I have it set up right now is if I want to add an article, I go into a feature only for admins which adds a database row with the information that is entered in. I have attached a screenshot that shows how the information is put in, and further down the screen there is a submit button that adds the row. I can enter in the title, author, source, body, and comments section of the article from that tool. A timestamp is placed on that row, which in the article itself shows the creation date. Have you seen my website yet? You should check it out and let me know what I could improve!
