Well, I have changed OS and now I'm working with Ubuntu.

I have created a new account (matisse01) with his new-password.
In File Zilla I wrote:

---In General---
Host: 209.105.255.163 (and then ftp.phoenix.sixserve.net)
Port: 21 (and then none)
Servertype: FTP
Logontype: Normal
User: matisse01
Passw: new-password (with copy/past)

---In Advanced---
Servertype: Default (and then Unix)

---In Transfer settings---
Transfer mode: Passive (and then Default)

---In Charset---
Autodetect

This is the best answer:

Status: Resolving address of ftp.phoenix.sixserve.net
Status: Connecting to 209.105.255.163:21...
Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message...
Response: 220---------- Welcome to Pure-FTPd [privsep] [TLS] ----------
Response: 220-You are user number 7 of 50 allowed.
Response: 220-Local time is now 14:31. Server port: 21.
Response: 220-IPv6 connections are also welcome on this server.
Response: 220 You will be disconnected after 15 minutes of inactivity.
Command: USER matisse01
Response: 331 User matisse01 OK. Password required
Command: PASS ************
Response: 530 Login authentication failed
Error: Critical error
Error: Could not connect to server

The server response is OK, the user is recognized but the password isn't.

Now let us consider the facts:

Only yesterday all was working well (and I have change nothing)
Now, even changing OS, the problem is always the same and the connection FTP (or SFTP) fail.

But having changed OS, now we can exclude the OS, File Zilla and the client internet settings.
Copyng and pasting the new password we can exclude a mistake on the old passwords.
With a new account we can olso exclude any other possible typing mistake.

Honestly, I don't think we'll find the solution on the client side. Can you help or explain me where my reasoning is wrong?

Thank you

The fact of the matter is, it's just your site. Every other person can access FTP, including me. There has to be something you changed somewhere, either in Permissions or otherwise.

Yes, something has changed but I can't remedy. Today I could access only with one of the four special account (the ftp account for logs).
Now I can access through this account but I wish get the others and, in particular, the main one.
Evidently the server and ftp client works, but there is a problem of authentication on password that I cannot change to reset them.
That is why I asked for your support. Is it possible, for example, with your help, recover passwords that are stored on the server?

......................

Sorry, but I have to correct me and I do not know and do not give me an explanation. Yesterday, after a last failed attempt, I turned it off and went to sleep. If Santa Claus has not gone in the night, no one has touched the pc. Now, I try to connect with the main account and amazingly it works.

The problem seems to be resolved itself...

I am not kidding, and I'm not trying to wriggle but it certainly is a really curious fact. Anyway thanks the same

Actually, I can confirm the same problem is present on my account. The server is throwing an authentication error as soon as the login details are passed to it on both FTP and SFTP. My account was provisioned today (Hi, first post :P) so If this issue isn't affecting all users I'd look towards this being either a problem on accounts that have been recently created or modified, or possibly an issue with the subdomains?

Just thought I'd share my 2 cents. Noticed the problem earlier but assumed it was because FTP traffic was being blocked over my mobile broadband (gotta love it when the cable goes down )
