I believe we only offer FTP and not SFTP.

Then if FTP is down, so is SFTP. I apologize about my mistake. I will look into it.

I think I've identified the problem: controlling the public key in ssh/shell access, I have seen that the folder /home/phoenixs/.pub is mysteriously missing.
If the problem is limited to this folder, I rewrite the folder and then I generate a new key. The fact is, however, that does not work either in ftp.
It was my mistake? I do not believe, however now I try and I'll let you know.

Best regards and thank you for your help.

..... Nothing to do... I've build a new key and uploaded it in my filezilla but now Ihave a "connection time out" error.
I'll try later

And this is the server response when I open a ftp connection with anonymous@ftp.phoenix.sixserve.net:

Response: 220-Local time is now 04:43. Server port: 21.
Response: 220-IPv6 connections are also welcome on this server.
Response: 220 You will be disconnected after 15 minutes of inactivity.
Command: USER anonymous
Response: 421 Can't change directory to /var/ftp/ [/]
Error: Could not connect to server

This usually occurs when you haven given wrong/incorrect details. Check again and I recommend that you use file Zilla client.

It is what I'm doing from two days... Perhaps the best thing to do is start from scratch ... but I do not understand what has happened: File Zilla never given me a problem...
